I was searching for a unique way to represent the bond formed by the people of Haiti during this tragedy. The Haitian motto 'Unity Creates Strength' (English translation) represented this concept of coming together, Haitians helping Haitians. I also felt that the final image should be uplifting, showing Haitians engaged in the process of helping each other. My research lead me to samplings of Haitian art and images of the 'Tap Tap Bus', an intricate part of the culture and source of transportation. The attention put into the decoration of these busses made this the perfect vehicle to illustrate the message - Haiti is on the road to recovery and it will Prevail!
