UNITY* was created by Catherine Lorenzo Realce, of design and letterpress studio visualchemist. The medium selected for the creation of this poster is letterpress, using both wood and metal type to create a blind (no ink) impression on the surface of the paper. The different fonts used in the composition of this poster are a metaphor for all the different people who have come together, uniting for Haiti. Red was selected for “unity” as it universally represents first aid, hospitals, and Doctors without Borders. A blind deboss was selected for the surrounding characters as it symbolizes that we are all one people, regardless of race or color. Poster is made of 100% cotton.
